We are New Zealand based renewable energy consultants and providers.

The Renewable Solutions team have on average over 30 years’ experience within the construction and electrical industry. We believe in making the most of our natural resources, reducing our energy consumption, saving money and providing a sustainable future for all New Zealanders. This can be achieved through various modes of renewable energy generation and by reusing energy in other forms.

We design, install and maintain reliable, high performance, wind turbines, solar PV, hydro, biomass boilers and other sustainable energy technologies. We are about saving you money over the long term. It’s not just about being ‘green’, being ‘green' is simply a great by-product or advantage of a system that makes sense financially. We will be happy to recommend diesel generators if that solution suits your needs and helps you save money on your energy bills. Our primary focus is on your needs and goals.

We are the New Zealand agents for Kyocera Solar Australia, Simons Green Energy (Aus), Urban Green Energy (USA), Turbina (Germany) amongst others.

Stuart MacWilliam
Registered Industrial Electrician

Stuart has been in the electrical industry for over 35 years. He completed an electrical apprenticeship in the freezing works before working for companies such as Ford Motor Company and Johnson and Johnson Ltd as a senior industrial maintenance electrician.

After moving to Christchurch, Stuart was appointed the Chief Engineer of one of the city's premier hotels. During his time there he project managed over $12 million worth of refurbishment. These refurbishments included significant energy efficiency measures to reduce the buildings carbon footprint. Also during this time Stuart was a member of the complaints assessment committee for the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

Stuart then worked for the Canterbury District Health Board in the engineering department as a project manager before moving to YHANZ as their National Property Manager. This position included liaising with architects, consultants and contractors from Paihia to Dunedin involving all trade disciplines. This role also included a significant energy minimization focus including energy costing and energy type specification.

In 2010 Stuart formed Renewable Solutions Ltd to bring a different way of looking at energy, energy use and energy minimization to their clients because they believe that there is a better way of using energy and that the energy users should have control of how and where that energy is produced.

To further this ideal Stuart has undertaken certification as a NABERNZ assessor. This energy audit grading is for commercial buildings' energy use. Stuart has completed renewable energy training under the auspices of the Clean Energy Council of Australia.
